World cup Mascots...

Over the more recent years of the world cup and as marketing and money has played a much bigger part we have seen the introduction of world cup mascots. Now I myself have never really been a big fan of mascots in football, well people dressed up in silly costumes cheering and dancing for the crowd-It seems to be something that has been adopted from American sport and I guess it is for the kids but it is just a load of nonsense in my opinion, so in this post I just wanted to take a look at some of the world cup mascots over the last 22 years since 2000 up until the present day and what we will be seeing in Qatar 2022.

I know for a fact that I am getting cynical in my old age and probably this is good entertainment for the kids but I feel this sums up how FIFA and other governing bodies are running football these days and for the last 30 years. Instead of being about nations competing against each other in a hard battle of nerve and skill, the game has been wrapped up in cotton wool and marketed to try and squeeze every last penny out of the game.
