Mertens begun her tournament with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Elena-Gabriela Ruse and  then got a free pass into the third round after Marie Bouzkova didn't played the match. After a good start, Elise Mertens got a walkover in the second round, but Mertens looked good in the third round on Friday as she sent Varvara Gracheva out in straight sets.

Cori Gauff:

Gauff has entered the fourth round without losing a team this week. She knocked out Rebecca Marino 7-5, 6-0 and Alison Van Uytvanck 6-1, 7-6 in the first two rounds in a row. She knocked down Estonia’s Kaia Kanepi 6-3, 6-4 in the third round but the match was bit nerve recking as Gauff was down in first set.

Prediction:

This match will be hard fought and can get to three sets easily. Both of them are good and according to me Gauff will advance to next round beating Mertens in 3 sets.
