Welcome to the exciting world of poker! In this game, players typically start with a forced bet known as the Big Blind and Small Blind. These bets make up the starting pot, which is the first incentive for players to win the hand. As the game progresses, the pot increases with each round of betting.

                                                 

When it's your turn to act, you have a few options available to you. You can check, bet, fold, call, or raise. Checking means you decline the opportunity to open the betting and pass the action clockwise to the next person in the hand. Betting means you can open the betting if no one else has. Folding means you forfeit your cards and can no longer win or act during the current hand. Calling means you match the highest bet made by other players. And raising means you match the highest bet made and make a greater one, forcing other players to call or re-raise to stay in the hand.

Texas Hold'em and Omaha are the most popular poker games in the world and have identical betting structures, with four rounds of betting known as pre-flop, the flop, the turn, and the river. Once the final round of betting is over, the remaining active players must show their hands and the player(s) with the best ranking hand(s) win the pot.

Betting limits refer to the amount that players can open and raise. Poker games can have no limit, pot limit, or fixed limit betting structures. No limit means players can bet or raise by any amount up to and including their full stack. Pot limit means players can bet or raise by any amount up to and including the size of the total pot at that time. Fixed limit means players can choose to call, bet or raise, but only by a fixed amount.

oh i could go on for days about poker and strategies in cash games and tournaments . Been threw so many different scenarios i wouldn't know where to begin lol

The article is not bad. What I like about online poker is not only the number of games you can play or the hidden facial expressions, but also the ability to choose your own bet amount.

i like the rush of the game myself the feeling it gives me when im in a big hand is one of my favorite feelings, poker was a way of life for me for 10 years. I dealt it , i was a poker manager and also was a tournament director. I began playing poker when i was 5 years old with my father at my camp so i learned early. I played a year long tourney  against every dealer in my area and won a free seat to wsop dealers event but i had to take the $ instead as my wife was pregnant so i did not peruse my dream of playing in the wsop and everyday i think that i made the wrong choice but it is what it is , 17000 was a good payday , it was 10 000 buy into wsop and 5000 spending money and 2k for accommodations

I recently started playing poker every other weekend with my friends and find it really frustrating. Cause all of my friends know the tips and treaks and I do not 😞
