Play'n'Go (PNG) have released a new game called Shamrock Miner and this Irish themed slot is a PNG version of the Big Bass style games. It looks and plays completely differently but the overall bonus mechanic is the same. You have to collect the little Irish Leprechaun miners and they can pick up the cash prizes in the rock gems. It starts off as a 5 reel, 4 row games with 12 pay lines. 

                  

Visually the game looks great but the sound effects and music I found a bit "cheesey" you can land the moner in the base game and it can also carry a random multiplier up to 10x, this can make for some nice base hits. A lined of premiums also pays well, top symbol is 200x!

                            

You have to land 3 or dynamite scatters and 3 gives you 10 spins, 4 15 spins and 5 20 spins. During the free spins you need to land the wild miners and for every 4 you collect you are awarded 10 more free spins with increased multiplier. For every re-trigger you get you also get a reel expansion and the max expansion is 5x7, for every expansion you are also awarded an extra 5 paylines meaning t fully expanded you have a total of 27 ways to win.

              

The hit rate in the base game is pretty low and I only managed to get one re-trigger in the 5 or so bonuses I grinded and believe me this slot can go cold for long periods, but I guess that is just where you are in the RTP cycle and may just be down to luck!

Overall Shamrock miner is a well game as you would expect from PNG, the mechanics are nothing new but this game looks and feels completely different from slots with the same mechanics. It is a pretty volatile game with a low hit rate in the base, the max win is 5,000x and as standard there is no bonus buy feature, you have to respect PNG for sticking to their guns and with holding any bonus buy features from their games. Some players may not like that you can't buy the bonus but in my opinion this move by PNG is admirable and puts players experience before profit and they are one of very few that are taking this line. Pretty good game looks nice and worth putting a few spins through!
