We have Play'n'Go's (PNG) Christmas offering to take a look at today and to be fair they have been pretty lazy! Despite this game looking fairly festive and some fresh new looking graphics and characters the game mechanics and base game are strait out of PNG's Dead series of games and appears to be a complete clone of scroll of dead.

  

Naughty Nick's Book is a 10 win line game, 5 reels, 3 rows and in the free spins the 6th reel opens up and gives the possibility of hitting even bigger wins. There are no base game features that I saw and I put 500 spins through this. You can adjust the amount of lines you play and as you all know I like slots that let you customize the lines, play less lines and the slot essentially becomes more volatile.

   

You need 3 or more Book Scatters to trigger the free spins, you are awarded a special symbol that expands if you land 3 or more and you start with 8 spins. You can re-trigger the spins if you land and extra 3 or more book scatters.

Again this is nothing we have not seen before and I really do feel PNG have been very lazy with this slot. The graphics and premium symbols are quite fun but this is all that they have done for their Xmas slot. I feel a studio like PNG should put a bit more effort in to their holiday games and come up with some fresh ideas. The Book games still have a pretty big draw and players still love them, I think the good thing about this slot is that it will appeal to players after Christmas and beyond.
