Well we have finally reached the knockout stage and what a lot of drama we had in the final group games last night. Not only did some teams get the win they needed but still didn't go through, we saw a massive upset with Cameroon beating Brazil 1-0 which cost me 1600 Euro lol. We said goodbye to Uruguay, Serbia, Ghana but a massive result from S.Korea saw them come from behind to beat Portugal and make it through to the knockout stage. 

The first round of the knockout stage kicks off today with 2 games, and on paper this should be a pretty standard progression for Argentina and Netherlands but this has been a World Cup of upsets already and I think there is a chance we will see some more. Australia are working really well as a team and are very physical with great stamina, Argentina's stamina has been pretty low and this could make a difference, however Argentina are obviously far more skillful and attacking. This match is very likely to get pretty heated with Argentina cheating and diving at the slightest touch. So it might be worth betting on cards in this game.

The Netherlands V's USA will also be a tough match for both teams. The USA should not be underestimated, they are a very fast team with some good players, however they are still pretty naive at this level and this maybe the difference. Like I said on paper and going by ranking this should be easy win for Netherlands and Argentina but I am certainly not convinced it will be plain sailing for either team!

Lol just realized that I was talking about matches for today, Saturday and I was supposed to be talking about Sunday's games. Well I am not going to delete what I said above now 🙂 France V's Poland, England V's Senegal, France and England are among the favorites for this competition and it should be fairly plain sailing for them both I think.
