Twitch and gambling

Twitch is going to update its policy regarding Gambling content at a time when it is under criticism for the proliferation of gambling on its platform.
In a recently released statement, Twitch states that it will instate new rules on October 18, "prohibiting the streaming of gambling sites that include slots, roulette or dice games that are not licensed in the United States or other jurisdictions that provide sufficient consumer protection."

Some of the currently most popular sites on the platform will be banned, such as Stake, Rollbit, Duelbits, and Roobet. Twitch has also made it clear that it will be able to identify more sites as the new rules are implemented and that some forms of gambling will not be affected, such as poker, fantasy sports and sports betting.

        

It should be noted that these new rules do not translate into an immediate total ban of all gambling content on the platform, although they are specifically targeted at some of the major gambling and betting sites used by streamers.
