Casper Ruud is seeded #1 and given a bye in the first round as he makes his fourth consecutive appearance in ATP Bastad. It was here in 2021 that the Norwegian led the field in an ATP event for the first time in his career and ended up claiming the title, dropping only 13 games in the process.

Francisco Cerundolo avoided consecutive first-round exits from ATP Bastad and made his mark in the main draw of the tournament by comfortably dispatching Pedro Sousa this week. He made his debut here in 2021 as a qualifier and was stopped by Federico Coria in the first round.

Casper Ruud leads 1-0. Francisco Cerundolo can put up a better show than what he managed in this matchup in the Miami Open a few months ago, but Casper Ruud should get the win once again.

Diego Schwartzman cannot wait to get back on clay as he struggled to find wins on grass throughout last month. He lost three of his four competitive matches during this grass swing and even failed to win a set against Sam Querrey and Jack Draper.

Elias Ymer reached the second round of ATP Bastad for the third consecutive season by edging Daniel Altmaier in two close sets in the first round of this edition. In his previous eight appearances in the tournament, the wildcard entrant has played three second-round matches and lost them all.

Diego Schwartzman leads 2-0. Elias Ymer, playing to the best of his abilities, can offer a stern challenge and even snag a set, but Diego Schwartzman should be able to find a way past the Swede #2.
