Ons Jabeur makes a new bit of history after a scorching comeback against Marie Bouzkova, who was making her slam second week debut. She was broken twice in the opening set but proceeded to break the Czech six times over the next two frames to fight back 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 in 107 minutes.

Tatjana Maria leveled the all-German quarterfinal against Wimbledon debutante Jule Niemeier from a set and break deficit and again recovered from 2-4 in the decider for an enthralling 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 win. It was a dramatic way to bring up her fifth career semifinal (2-2) and the first above 250 level.

Ons Jabeur leads 2-1. The good friends have not met since the Tunisian's 6-4, 6-1 win at the 2018 Beijing when she was still outside the top 100. Tatjana Maria may have earned both of top 5 scalps at Wimbledon but she also carries the toll of spending 11.5 hours on court so far.

Elena Rybakina has become the first Kazakh player, man or woman, to reach the semifinal of a major. After creating no breakpoints in the first set, the 23-year-old broke serve five times in the next two and dispatched 15 aces to defeat now two-time quarterfinalist Ajla Tomljanovic, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Simona Halep blasted into the semifinal after seeing off some late complications against Amanda Anisimova. She lost three games in a row from 5-1 in the second set and had to fend off three consecutive breakpoints before serving out, 6-2, 6-4, in her second Center Court outing of the campaign.

Simona Halep leads 2-1. After losing via retirement at 2019 Wuhan, she needed tiebreak-involved three-setters in their subsequent clashes at 2020 Dubai (F) and 2021 US Open (3R). She may have an easier time as they meet outside hard court in such a high-stake environment.
