Tatjana Maria continued her upset marathon after a sensational comeback against former semifinalist Jelena Ostapenko. Trailing the second set by 1-4 and third by 0-2, the mother-of-two fended off a couple of match points on serve to defeat the 12th seed, 5-7, 7-5, 7-5, in a bit over two hours.

Jule Niemeier flamed out the last remaining British hope. She made her debut on the Center Court against former mixed doubles champion Heather Watson and rallied from 0-2 down in the second set to prevail 6-2, 6-4, avenging a gutting Monterrey deciding set tiebreak defeat from earlier this season.

It's going to be the first all-German Wimbledon quarterfinal since Angelique Kerber narrowly edged Sabine Lisicki in 2012. Unlike that match, this one will be a battle between generations as Tatjana Maria bids to become the oldest first-time slam semifinalist in the Open Era.

Marie Bouzkova hadn't gone past the second round in her 13 previous Grand Slam campaigns. The 2014 US Open junior champion, who is finally having her breakthrough at the slam-level, extended her dream run after snapping the streak of Bad Homburg champion Caroline Garcia, 7-5, 6-2.

Ons Jabeur advanced to her second consecutive Wimbledon quarterfinal after thwarting her toughest challenge of the fortnight yet. Down 3-6 in the opening set tiebreak, she saved all five set points against Elise Mertens and won 7-6, 6-4 to avenge a straight-set defeat in last year's US Open.

Third seed Ons Jabeur is the only top 60 player left in the bottom half and this is an opportunity that has come begging to the Tunisian. She has gone 19-2 and won two titles on grass across 2021-22 while Marie Bouzkova is 0-4 against top 5 players in completed matches.

Novak Djokovic knocked out the most in-form player on grass present in this year's Wimbledon draw to move into the quarterfinal. The reigning ATP 's-Hertogenbosch champion Tim Van Rijthoven won around 90% of the points on his first serves in the earlier rounds, but that number came down to just 66% against the Serbian, who created 17 breakpoint chances and converted six of them, 6-2 4-6 6-1 6-2.

Jannik Sinner got his first win against Carlos Alcaraz in the third attempt a couple of days ago. The Italian looked in trouble after a dominant start to the match but saving 6 out of 6 breakpoints in the fourth set bailed him out, 6-1 6-4 6-7 6-3.

David Goffin's campaign is getting tougher and tougher as the tournament progresses. He did not drop a set in the opening two matches against Radu Albot and Sebastian Baez, needed a four-set comeback effort against Ugo Humbert in the third round and was taken to the distance by Frances Tiafoe in the round of 16.

Cameron Norrie made the most of the kind draw to reach the quarterfinal of his home slam at Wimbledon. Unlike in the previous three matches, he couldn't serve a bagel in the round of 16 against Tommy Paul (6-4 7-5 6-4), but it was a solid performance considering the American's form coming into this campaign.

Cameron Norrie leads 1-0 (6-0 3-5, retired. ATP Barcelona 2021). Having already played a few quarterfinals at this level certainly helps David Goffin, and he is also the talented player of these two. However, Cameron Norrie has consistently performed at a higher level over the last few months, and he is expected to have a slight edge in this battle.
