In a closely contested five-set battle between two players with questionable fitness, Jason Kubler just managed to edge past the two-time former Wimbledon doubles champion Jack Sock in the third round.

Taylor Fritz maintained his perfect record in this year's Wimbledon with an easy win over the 2022 ATP Marrakech and Lyon runner-up Alex Molcan in the third round. He dropped his serve at least once in all three matches, but that did not cost him anything as he managed to win all nine sets he played so far.

Taylor Fritz leads 1-0. A fit Jason Kubler is capable of producing challenging performances against quality players, and he did test Taylor Fritz when they met once at the US Open before eventually he retired from the contest, trailing 1-2 in sets. Considering their fitness condition and experience at this level, the American is deservedly favored to win and make his maiden quarterfinal appearance in slams.

The game between this two gentleman's will take place in the UK at 17:30(CET) 

Botic Van De Zandschulp fought back from 2-5 down and saved five set points (on return) to win the first set in his third-round match against Richard Gasquet, and that played a big part in deciding the final outcome, 7-5 2-6 7-6 6-1.

Rafael Nadal needed a dominant win to boost his confidence before moving into the second week at Wimbledon, and he got that against the former ATP Antalya (G) champion Lorenzo Sonego in the third round, 6-1 6-2 6-4. This was a far improved performance from the Spaniard, who dropped a set and faced plenty of breakpoints in his previous two matches against Francisco Cerundolo and Ricardas Berankis.

Rafael Nadal leads 1-0 (6-3 6-2 6-4 at the French Open 2022). Unlike in Paris a couple of months ago, Botic Van De Zandschulp can play out a close contest and even trouble the Spaniard on grass, but he will have to perform a lot better than he did against Richard Gasquet (in R3).

The game between this two lady's will take place in the UK at 15:55(CET) 

Alize Cornet became the full stop to the tour's longest streak in 25 years. She cruised into the second week of Wimbledon for the second time in her career after defeating top seed Iga Swiatek, 6-4, 6-2, while the reigning Roland-Garros champion spiraled out to hit a whopping 33 unforced errors.

Ajla Tomljanovic is intent on having another good summer at Wimbledon. She took on the 13th seed but a recent injury-bitten Barbora Krejcikova in the third round and went from getting broken three times in the opening set to saving both breakpoints in the final frame, prevailing 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.

There is little to distinguish the veterans who are seeking their second major quarterfinal. They split their encounters in 2021, with Alize Cornet beating the Aussie in Melbourne, 5-7, 6-1, 6-3, and getting paid back at Wimbledon, 6-4, 0-6, 6-3 (their first clash outside hard).

Amanda Anisimova had an unforgettable Center Court debut as she rallied against 11th seed Coco Gauff for her 13th career top 20 win but the first ever on grass. After losing the first set in 66 minutes, she broke this year's Roland-Garros finalist five times in the next two to finish off, 6-7, 6-2, 6-1.

Harmony Tan was in no mood to end her surreal two weeks in London. She routed British favorite Katie Boulter, 6-1, 6-1, in 50-odd minutes after facing no breakpoints and overall striking 16 winners to five unforced errors. It was by far her tour-level career's most one-sided completed win.

Amanda Anisimova leads 1-0. She was 17 when she faced Harmony Tan in the first round of the 2019 Roland-Garros. The youngster won that match in front of the Parisian crowd, 6-3, 6-1, and also went on to join the semifinals and stood a few games from beating Ashleigh Barty.

The game between this two lady's will take place in the UK at 17:15(CET) 

Paula Badosa was 0-6 against seeded opponents on grass courts when she took on two-time champion and 25th seed Petra Kvitova. Apart from the lapse in the very first game, she did not drop another service game and rallied from 3-5 to prevail 7-5, 7-6 and avenge a 2020 loss in Melbourne.

Simona Halep is the last Wimbledon champion standing and has not dropped a set all fortnight long. She started against two-time quarterfinalist Karolina Muchova, followed by sending former semifinalist Kirsten Flipkens into retirement and then halting Magdalena Frech's best slam run.

Simona Halep leads 1-0. She saved six of seven breakpoints to dominate home favorite Paula Badosa, 6-3, 6-1, in 76 minutes in the second round of Madrid this April. It wasn't an overly surprising result, given she is a two-time winner and two-time runner-up of that clay event.
