Roberto Bautista Agut looked a bit shaky against the world #303 and first-time semifinalist Antoine Bellier in the semifinal of ATP Mallorca. He needed a tiebreaker in the first set and trailed by an early break in the second set, 7-6 6-2. The Spanish must be quite content with his performance and results so far in this grass swing. He stayed out of action for more than a month after losing a three-setter to Dan Evans at Madrid Masters and hadn't won consecutive matches for nearly four months before his run to the quarterfinal in Halle last week.

Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated Benjamin Bonzi for the second consecutive week to give himself a chance of claiming an unlikely title on grass, 6-4 6-4. This is one of his easiest paths to the final at this level, as the highest-ranked player he had beaten so far in this campaign was the world #40 Ilya Ivashka in the opening round.

Stefanos Tsitsipas leads 3-0 including in exhibitions (1-0 on grass, Boodles Challenge 2019). Both players are performing well below their best level at the moment, and neither is expected to have any significant advantage in this title-deciding clash on grass. Stefanos Tsitsipas' (8-12) record in tour-level championship matches doesn't look as good as Roberto Bautista Agut (10-9) but 8 of his 12 losses were against top-5 players and six against the top-ranked players.
