Ryan Peniston scored his maiden main-draw win in tour-level events and converted it into a quarterfinal appearance in ATP London last week. He upset the top seed and world #5 Casper Ruud in straight sets in the first round and later led the eventual runner-up Filip Krajinovic by a set in the quarterfinal.

Holger Rune played his first match on grass (as a pro) in Halle last week and went down in straight sets against Pablo Carreno Busta in the first round. The former Boys' French Open champion will again try his luck in Eastbourne, where he's got a relatively comfortable opponent in the first round.

Ryan Peniston's performance on the grass in recent weeks and his ability in these conditions make this a 50-50 contest, and Holger Rune will have to be at the top of his game if he has to open his account on grass, which he is expected to do this Tuesday.

Lorenzo Sonego won six matches on grass last year, and three of those wins came here in Eastbourne, where he made his debut and was a set away from claiming the title, 6-4 4-6 6-7 against Alex de Minaur in the championship match.

James Duckworth, who suffered an injury during the Australian swing earlier this year and was forced to miss nearly four months of action, snapped his eight-match losing streak and registered his first win of the season in the qualifying stages of ATP Eastbourne this week.

 Lorenzo Sonego leads 1-0 (6-3 6-4 6-4 in Wimbledon 2021). A fully-fit James Duckworth, playing to the best of his abilities, is capable of beating Lorenzo Sonego, who is going through a rough patch over the last few months.

The game between this two gentlemans will take place in the UK at 12:45(CET)

Ugo Humbert dropped over 50 places and exited the top 100 in ATP Rankings after failing to defend his title in Halle's 500 last week. Given the circumstances, it was still a good outing for him as he was able to end his three-match losing streak and put in a decent fight against the eventual champion Hubert Hurkacz in the second round.

Thiago Monteiro registered his first win on grass since 2019 by defeating Mark Whitehouse and followed it up with a dominant straight-set win over the talented Juncheng Shang to book his main-draw berth in Eastbourne this week.

There are no easy matches for Ugo Humbert on current form, but he should be able to beat Thiago Monteiro without too many issues in these conditions.

The game between this two gentlemans will take place at Centre Court, Mallorca at 15:00(CET)

Daniel Altmaier has been unfortunate with the draws so far in this grass swing as he had to face the in-form Oscar Otte and Nick Kyrgios in the first round in Stuttgart and Halle, and he lost both of those matches in straight sets.

Dusan Lajovic will begin his Wimbledon preparations in Mallorca this week. He was competing in a clay Challenger event in Parma last week and failed in the semifinal against former world #12 Borna Coric.

Daniel Altmaier leads 1-0 (Umag 2021). The experience gained from those tough battles against Oscar Otte and Nick Kyrgios in recent weeks certainly gives the German an advantage over Dusan Lajovic, who will be playing his first match on grass in 12 months.

Dan Evans usually collects plenty of points and some titles during this phase of the season and 2022 hasn't been any different so far. He won the 23rd lower-level title of his career on the grass courts in Nottingham Challenger a couple of weeks ago, where he defeated the likes of Jack Sock and Jordan Thompson and did not drop a set all week.

Adrian Mannarino, like his opponent Dan Evans also enjoys playing on grass and has had plenty of success on the surface over the years. In fact, he managed to put an end to his worrying six-match losing streak in championship matches on the main tour and claimed his maiden ATP title in a grass-court event in 's-Hertogenbosch three years ago.

 Dan Evans leads 3-1 (1-1 on grass). Both players are equally capable of beating each other on grass, but the Brit has been performing at a higher level in recent months, and he is deservedly favored to win this evenly-poised contest.
