I’ve been betting on CS:GO matches for some time now and I’m no stranger when it comes down to analyzing teams and their players.  I enjoy doing what I do, win or lose because its all so fun! It’s like an entertainment such as how one would pay to go to the theaters except I actually make great returns. However, there has been many instances where it is very evident when a team is intentionally throwing. Like when they change up their normal play-styles… for example:

- From passive and gaining information to full on suicide rushing.

- Clearly no utility usage. (Plainly peaks and dies)

- Lack of teamwork

- Ego peaking when there is no need to.

This type of fixing usually only occurs in lower tier tournaments like TIER D, C, B and sometimes, although this is very rare, ‘A’ tier matches.

TIER D/C/B - Semi-pro matches

Tier A/S - Professional

This is very much going against the rules but there is no way to prosecute them if there is no clear evidence. We simply cannot avoid these things and there is no way of knowing what happens behind the scenes. Hell, even if you watch their account balance, they probably have friends and families know the outcome beforehand to place bets for them.

The only thing I can tell you is to avoid placing bets on any matches lower than tier B as in most cases, It is likely to be fixed! Logic and any analysis will not apply so it is a 50/50 chance.

MY METHOD

I mainly place high bets 100+ on A/S matches and get most of them correct (You can ask me for advice too, i was able to predict Faze’s victory several days beforehand and the matches leading up to it).

Also, if you plan on placing bets on semi-pro matches, always go for the ones with slightly higher returns.

Is there any type of regulation or governing body that can check for potential match fixing?

Some US authorities including the FBI have been reported to investigate and look for evidence of match fixing but its not easy when things like these are done in discreet (in-person or 3rd party is involved). There have been past attempts of the FBI looking into bank balances and text messages due to many allegations but have proven to be a waste of effort.

However, there are some cases in which some CS:GO players have been caught doing so.
