Gambling should only be kept as a fun past time and only as this, if you are spending more than you can afford to loose or it is causing other problems then seek help and STOP! When gambling is kept as a hobby and played responsibly it can be fun, although to me it is only really fun when you win, or should I say it is more fun when you win. So below are 10 tips that I hope will help you become a better more successful gambler.

1. Bankroll management- Is key to being a winning player, if you have a budget of 100 Euros a week to gamble and spend it all in an hour then that is not fun. Manage your money better and spread how much you spend over the week, Who knows you might be running really cold on Monday but on Friday you are hotter than the sun!
2. Don't drink too much alcohol- Drinking and gambling kind of go hand in hand and the odd beer or two is ok but drink too much and your judgement goes out of the window. There is a reason why big casinos offer you free drinks when you playing at them.
3. Timing- Timing is a crucial point of lots of things in gambling doing the right thing at the right time is the difference between winning and loosing. If things are not going right don't think you are unlucky just see it as your timing is off. Take a break and restart after a rest.
4. Positive state of mind- Like most things how you feel when you do something will depend on how well you can do it, if you are feeling in a bad mood and had a crappy day at work chances are you will not be able to stay in control of your actions and are likely to tilt. So don't play if you feel like that, wait until you feel good about your self-go and have a shower, freshen up and clear your head then play.
5. Practice before you play- This generally applies to poker but can be transferred to slots and other table games. Before you start your session have a few warm up hand on free play or demo mode on slots, this can just help your mind wake up and get in the right zone to win! And after all winning is what we want, right?
6. Don't play when you tired!- Playing when tired is a bad idea, your concentration is just not on point. If you play when you are tired you are much more likely to become agitated and angry if you loose, this can have a knock on effect and cause you to tilt.
7. Keep a record of your gambling- For those that are familiar with excel or other software like this, spread sheets are a great way of keeping an eye on how much you are spending. record dates of when you win and loose, include how you were feeling at the time. You can then refer to data and see where you were going wrong and where you got things right. Reflecting on your gambling can have a big impact on results.
8. Don't gamble on drugs- Although illegal in most countries gambling whilst high is a bad idea, drugs change the state of your mind and effect your decision making- which will often result in loosing.
9. Think long term- It is very important to think long term when gambling and maybe this point should have been higher but if you don't think to the future you will end up chucking your money away. Remember there is always another day and do you want to be able to gamble on that other day? Or do you want to throw your money away tilting because you are too tired?
10. Don't chase losses- Chasing losses is one of the main reason gambling becomes a problem! And it is very hard not to do, most people feel like if they loose they want to get it back. Depending on your personality this can become a real battle and will often lead to you going broke- So Do Not Chase Losses, set a limit and if you loose STOP!
