Today like a lot of the time in winter the Uk's weather is absolutely terrible and the ground is completely waterlogged and the rain is still falling, the wind is blowing 50-60 kmh gusts and the horses will be finding the going very heavy, this means on  standard turf racetracks there will be a lot of favorites pulled up and quite a few longer odds horses winning. One exception though is Lingfield Race course and we have a full card today, so this track is going to be one the best for picking on form horses at sensible prices, as the weather will have much less of an effect on results.

Lingfield Park Racecourse, known as Lingfield, is a horse racing track in Surrey, UK. It's owned by ARC Racing and Leisure Group, and is known for being a winter all-weather flat-racing course. The track is made of Polytrack, which is different from the usual turf found in UK racecourses. Lingfield is one of only five all-weather courses in UK, the others being Southwell, Kempton, Wolverhampton, Newcastle, and Chelmsford City. It also holds flat racing on turf in the summer and National Hunt races on turf.

The racecourse is located on a 450-acre estate and was opened in 1890 by the Prince of Wales (later Edward VII) who allowed Lingfield to use the Prince of Wales feathers in its official heading. Racing has been held continuously ever since, except during World War II when it was requisitioned by the War Office. After the war, it returned to the Beckwith-Smith family, was sold to Ladbrokes in 1974, and then sold again in 1982. Arena Leisure bought the course in 1991 and in 2001, they changed the Equitrack all-weather surface to Polytrack. There have been other developments such as the re-laying of the back straight on the turf course in 2002/2003 and the construction of a £5.5 million grandstand in 2004. A Marriott hotel is also now located on the racecourse. The racecourse was also featured in the 1954 film "The Rainbow Jacket."

Results at Lingfield so far completely prove my point, all weather race courses and you can still rely on backing the favorites or shorter odds horses!
