Shield of Sparta- Pragmatic Play (Quick Review)

It is not often that I can say this game shows real innovation about a Pragmatic slot but Shield of Sparta has a pretty unique bonus mechanic and is actually really fun to play. It is  5 reel, 3 row, 20 pay line game, the graphics are very good and game play is excellent. The base game however is a bit dry and could have really done with some kind of base feature, other than the hold and re-spin on the scatter symbols when you land x2.

Like I said above if you land 2 scatters you get a re-spin to see if you can land more. 3 scatters gives you 10fs, 4 scatters 15fs and 5 scatters 20fs. There are also 2 different types of scatters, standard and magnetic. Where ever the scatters land on the reels a box appears in the free spins, it starts off as a bronze box but each time you land a scatter it upgrades, silver and then gold is the the highest. The idea is to get as many wins as possible in the free spins and on the last spin multipliers are uncovered from where the scatter boxes are on the reels.

You can see on the reels above I have 6 boxes, 4 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze. The bronze scatters award multiplier up to 3x, the silver up to 8x and the gold up to 20x. I managed 3 re-triggers in the bonus above and each re-trigger awards 10 more spins. On the last spin the multipliers are uncovered and added together, they then times your win by what ever the combined value of the multipliers is. This is how you win big, the max win is only 3000x and the volatility is high, the hit rate is pretty low so building wins in the bonus can be quite hard.

Overall this is a very good slot, Pragmatic have pulled everything together very well with this game and I expect a sequel to Shield of Sparta at some point in the future. This slot will appeal to all players, old and new. The RTP is 96.5% which is good. I really liked this game and think the bonus is excellent and quite exciting, I also think @AlphaGamblerwill like this game and we will probably see it on stream!
