Singapore Grand Prix 2022 - The Big Race

Perez takes the win in Singapore, making it his 2nd win of the 2022 season after the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix.

The Red Bull driver, who started in the 2nd position of the grid, had a great reaction time and was able to overtook Ferrari's Charles Leclerc before the first corner to lead the race.

In between several physical and virtual safety cars, Perez held on to the top spot to take the checkered flag with 7.5 seconds ahead of Leclerc, who had to settle for 2nd place on the podium.

Despite this, Perez went for investigation by the commissioners for "inappropriate conduct behind the safety car." At one point Perez even overtook the safety car, and at another he came dangerously close. The FIA gave him a 5sec penalty 

Ferrari's Carlos Sainz completed the podium in 3rd position after overtaking Lewis Hamilton at the start. The two touched twice, while the Spaniard got the better of the seven-time champion. Hamilton didn't have a good race and finished only in P9.

McLaren achieved its best result of the year with its driver duo. Lando Norris finished 4th and Daniel Ricciardo 5th.

Lance Stroll was 6th for Aston Martin, which saw Vettel finish 8th after being overtaken by Max Verstappen in the closing stages of the GP.

Verstappen started very poorly and dropped from P8 to P12. In a race of recovery, the championship leader made a mistake when trying to overtake Norris and was forced into the pits. After overtaking Hamilton and Vettel, Verstappen finished in P7.

AlphaTauri's Pierre Gasly completed the race in 10th.
