Twitch is going to update its policy regarding Gambling content at a time when it is under criticism for the proliferation of Gambling on its platform.

In a recently released statement, Twitch states that it will install new rules on October 18, "prohibiting the streaming of gambling sites that include slots, roulette or dice games that are not licensed in the United States or other jurisdictions that provide sufficient consumer protection."
Gambling content on Twitch has been a big topic of discussion in the community, and something we’ve been actively reviewing. Today, we want to update you on our plans. While we prohibit sharing links or referral codes to all sites that include slots, roulette, or dice games, we’ve seen some people circumvent those rules and expose our community to potential harm. We’ll be making a policy update on 10/18 to prohibit streaming of gambling sites that include slots, roulette, or dice games that aren't licensed either in the U.S. or other jurisdictions that provide sufficient consumer protection. These sites will include Stake, Rollbit, Duelbits, and Roobet. However, we may identify others as we move forward. We will continue to allow websites that focus on sports betting, fantasy sports, and poker. We’ll share specifics on the updates to our Gambling policy soon, including the full policy language, to make sure everyone is clear on our new rules before they take effect on 10/18.

Some of the currently most popular sites on the platform will be banned, such as Stake, Rollbit, Duelbits, and Roobet. Twitch has also made it clear that it will be able to identify more sites as the new rules are implemented and that some forms of gambling will not be affected, such as poker, fantasy sports and sports betting.

HasanAbi, Pokimane and Asmongold were some of the people who have asked Twitch to ban this type of content on the platform. Add to all this the recent controversy with Sliker, a content creator who allegedly scammed his viewers and friends out of more than $200,000 to fund his gambling addiction.

In case something goes wrong with @AlphaGambler channel on Twitch you can always check his streams on Youtube or DLive!
