Quite a fun little new release from Pragmatic- Down the Rails is a 5 reel, 3 row, 20 win line slot. The game is set in England and based around the Tube railway system, the characters appear to be people of notice from English history all though drawn pretty ambiguously, I think Winston Churchill and maybe Henry the 8th but like I said the characters are not drawn particularly well.                                       

                                 

Pragmatic Play have made the base game which is pretty mundane a bit more interesting by adding a lot of random base features. In fact there are 5 that you can trigger on any one spin. The Premiums are stacked though so you can get some pretty nice 30-70+ base hits.

 

The base features are similar to ones we have seen before and add wilds, wins and can even trigger the bonus free spins, of which there is again 5 to chose from and Prag have even added a bonus gamble on this slot which is always fun! Free spins can't be purchased you have to grind this slot.

        

              

The lower features are pretty poor and do not expect to win big from these ones, the Canary Wharf feature is pretty good and you start with 8 free spins. In this bonus you have to land a golden till and then it turns any premium symbols into cash values up to 50x.

                         

                            

The Buckingham Palace feature is pretty good, with its transforming wilds and the top feature the End of the Line spins is a hold'n'spin bonus.

            

                

The RTP for Down the Rails is 96.51%, the slot has a medium low hit rate and the Max win is 5000x, I think the max win in the base game is 500x for a full screen of top symbol and the premiums are stacked! This is a medium/low hit rate slot that has quite a high volatility.

Overall Down the Rails is quite a fun game, it has a lot to keep players coming back and the feature gamble is also nice. You get a mystery win if you lose the gamble. This Pragmatic release feels very much like a Blue Print style game and in the same ilk as Ted, Top-Cat and The Goonies. I did find the sound effects in the base game and the music quite annoying after a while, especially on turbo spin. The game definitely grew on me as I played it though and I really enjoyed grinding it to play all the features.
