Spinberry Gaming are a new provider and have only been on the scene a year or a so, they have 10 or so games in their catalog and the one I chose is Drop the Wilds a pin-ball themed slot. Drop the wilds is a 5 reel, 4 row, 20 win line slot.

       

The base game is on Drop the Wilds does not have much to offer, apart from when you land a scatter you get a chance to ping a ball up the chute and try and release a random number of wilds that fall onto the reels. You can see the dial in the bottom right hand of the screen above. When a scatter lands the dial spins and if it lands in the gold then you get a ball to fire. To trigger the free spins you need 3 scatters on reels 1,3 and 5. If you do this you are awarded 5 balls or spins. You can also buy the bonus for 40x.

                               

During the free spins you get to fire a ball up the into the pin ball machine every spin, you will be awarded between 1-9 wilds that drop onto the reels. Where the ball drops seems pretty random to me but where the wilds are positioned on the reels seems rigged as hell.

  

Ideally you want as many wilds to drop as possible and this can help create the bigger wins, although do not get excited a wild line only pays 5x!!! There is no chance of getting anything else apart from wilds, you do however get a re-spin after the wilds gave dropped, so essentially 5 free spins turns into 10.

           

Overall I loved the theme of this slot and Spinberry have got a lot right but also a lot wrong! The music and sound effects are bad! The music is annoying and the sound effects really do not simulate a pin ball machine in my opinion. They could certainly do a lot better in this area. This is a very low volatility slot and you can tell that because the bonus costs 40x to buy, the hit rate is medium and like I said this game has very little big win potential. Drop the Wilds RTP is 95.12%.

Like I said I love the pin ball theme of Drop the Wilds but boy could this game benefit from a bit more in the way of innovation, why not have different types of wilds that can drop down? You could easily increase the volatility and max win (which can't be more than 250x), which would make the slot way more appealing. If you could get locking wilds, expanding wilds and multiplying wilds drop down it would add so much more and the line pays are just awful, 5x for a wild line, seriously?

Overall it seems like a Beta slot and not quite finished, Spinberry have made a nice mechanic with the ball dropping in and triggering wilds but the game needs more than standard wilds with a re-spin, people will get bored of this very quickly. If it had more variation, with multiple types of wilds and maybe some other features then I think this slot would have been a winner but as it stands now people's playtime on the game will be very low. Really good theme Spinberry just needs a little bit more to hold players attention and your sound department needs to have their ears syringed!
